1.1“Buddha vīra namo tyatthu,Oh Buddha, my hero: homage to you!1.2sabbasattānamuttama;Supreme among all beings,1.3Yo maṁ dukkhā pamocesi,who released me from suffering,1.4aññañca bahukaṁ janaṁ.and many other beings as well.

2.1Sabbadukkhaṁ pariññātaṁ,All suffering is fully understood;2.2Hetutaṇhā visositā;craving—its cause—is dried up;2.3Bhāvito aṭṭhaṅgiko maggo,the eightfold path has been developed;2.4Nirodho phusito mayā.and cessation has been realized by me.

3.1Mātā putto pitā bhātā,Previously I was a mother, a son,3.2ayyakā ca pure ahuṁ;a father, a brother, and a grandmother.3.3Yathābhuccamajānantī,Failing to grasp the true nature of things,3.4saṁsariṁhaṁ anibbisaṁ.I transmigrated without reward.

4.1Diṭṭho hi me so bhagavā,Since I have seen the Blessed One,4.2antimoyaṁ samussayo;this bag of bones is my last.4.3Vikkhīṇo jātisaṁsāro,Transmigration through births is finished,4.4natthi dāni punabbhavo.now there’ll be no more future lives.

5.1Āraddhavīriye pahitatte,I see the disciples in harmony,5.2Niccaṁ daḷhaparakkame;energetic and resolute,5.3Samagge sāvake passe,always staunchly vigorous—5.4Esā buddhāna vandanā.this is homage to the Buddhas!

6.1Bahūnaṁ vata atthāya,It was truly for the benefit of many6.2Māyā janayi gotamaṁ;that Māyā gave birth to Gotama.6.3Byādhimaraṇatunnānaṁ,He swept away the mass of suffering6.4Dukkhakkhandhaṁ byapānudī”ti.for those stricken by sickness and death.
