1.4Katamañca, bhikkhave, brahmacariyaṁ?And what is the spiritual path?1.5Ayameva ariyo aṭṭhaṅgiko maggo, seyyathidaṁ—It is simply this noble eightfold path, that is:1.6sammādiṭṭhi …pe… sammāsamādhi.right view, right purpose, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right immersion.1.7Idaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, brahmacariyaṁ.This is called the spiritual path.

1.8Katamo ca, bhikkhave, brahmacariyattho?And what is the goal of the spiritual path?1.9Yo kho, bhikkhave, rāgakkhayo dosakkhayo mohakkhayo—The ending of greed, hate, and delusion.1.10ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, brahmacariyattho”ti.This is called the goal of the spiritual path.”
