2.1Uṭṭhahatha nisīdatha,Get up and meditate!2.2Daḷhaṁ sikkhatha santiyā;Train hard for peace!2.3Mā vo pamatte viññāya,The King of Death has caught you heedless—2.4Maccurājā amohayittha vasānuge.don’t let him fool you under his sway.

3.1Yāya devā manussā ca,Needy gods and humans3.2sitā tiṭṭhanti atthikā;are held back by clinging:3.3Tarathetaṁ visattikaṁ,get over it.3.4khaṇo vo mā upaccagā;Don’t let the moment pass you by.3.5Khaṇātītā hi socanti,For if you miss your moment3.6nirayamhi samappitā.you’ll grieve when sent to hell.

4.1Pamādo rajo pamādo,Negligence is always dust;4.2Pamādānupatito rajo;dust follows right behind negligence.4.3Appamādena vijjāya,Through diligence and knowledge,4.4Abbahe sallamattanoti.pluck out the dart from yourself.

4.5Uṭṭhānasuttaṁ dasamaṁ.
