1.1“Bhikkhunī sīlasampannā,“A nun accomplished in ethics,1.2indriyesu susaṁvutā;her sense faculties well-restrained,1.3Adhigacche padaṁ santaṁ,would realize the peaceful state,1.4asecanakamojavaṁ”.so delectable and nutritious.”

2.1“Tāvatiṁsā ca yāmā ca,“There are the gods of the thirty-three, <j>and those of Yama;2.2tusitā cāpi devatā;also the Joyful Deities,2.3Nimmānaratino devā,the gods who love to create,2.4ye devā vasavattino;and the gods who control what is created by others.2.5Tattha cittaṁ paṇīdhehi,Set your heart on such places,2.6yattha te vusitaṁ pure”.where you used to live.”

3.1“Tāvatiṁsā ca yāmā ca,“The gods of the thirty-three, <j>and those of Yama;3.2tusitā cāpi devatā;also the Joyful Deities,3.3Nimmānaratino devā,the gods who love to create,3.4ye devā vasavattino.and the gods who control what is created by others—

4.1Kālaṁ kālaṁ bhavābhavaṁ,time after time, life after life,4.2sakkāyasmiṁ purakkhatā;are governed by substantial reality.4.3Avītivattā sakkāyaṁ,They haven’t passed beyond substantial reality,4.4jātimaraṇasārino.those who transmigrate through birth and death.

5.1Sabbo ādīpito loko,All the world is on fire,5.2sabbo loko padīpito;all the world is alight,5.3Sabbo pajjalito loko,all the world is ablaze,5.4sabbo loko pakampito.all the world is rocking.

6.1Akampiyaṁ atuliyaṁ,The Buddha taught me the Dhamma,6.2aputhujjanasevitaṁ;unshakable, incomparable,6.3Buddho dhammamadesesi,not frequented by ordinary people;6.4tattha me nirato mano.my mind adores that place.

7.1Tassāhaṁ vacanaṁ sutvā,After hearing his words,7.2vihariṁ sāsane ratā;I happily did his bidding.7.3Tisso vijjā anuppattā,I’ve attained the three knowledges,7.4kataṁ buddhassa sāsanaṁ.and fulfilled the Buddha’s instructions.

8.1Sabbattha vihatā nandī,Relishing is banished in every respect,8.2tamokhandho padālito;and the mass of darkness is shattered.8.3Evaṁ jānāhi pāpima,So know this, Wicked One:8.4nihato tvamasi antaka”.you’re beaten, terminator!”
