1.1“Satimatī cakkhumatī,“A nun with faculties developed,1.2bhikkhunī bhāvitindriyā;mindful, seeing clearly,1.3Paṭivijjhi padaṁ santaṁ,I penetrated that peaceful state,1.4akāpurisasevitaṁ”.which reprobates do not cultivate.”

2.1“Kiṁ nu jātiṁ na rocesi,“Why don’t you approve of rebirth?2.2jāto kāmāni bhuñjati;When you’re born, you get to enjoy sensual pleasures.2.3Bhuñjāhi kāmaratiyo,Enjoy erotic delights;2.4māhu pacchānutāpinī”.don’t regret it later.”

3.1“Jātassa maraṇaṁ hoti,“Death comes to those who are born;3.2hatthapādāna chedanaṁ;and when born they fall into suffering:3.3Vadhabandhapariklesaṁ,the chopping off of hands and feet,3.4jāto dukkhaṁ nigacchati.killing, caging, misery.

4.1Atthi sakyakule jāto,But there is one born in the Sakyan clan,4.2sambuddho aparājito;awakened and undefeated.4.3So me dhammamadesesi,He taught me the Dhamma4.4jātiyā samatikkamaṁ.for transcending rebirth:

5.1Dukkhaṁ dukkhasamuppādaṁ,suffering, suffering’s origin,5.2dukkhassa ca atikkamaṁ;suffering’s transcendence,5.3Ariyaṁ caṭṭhaṅgikaṁ maggaṁ,and the noble eightfold path5.4dukkhūpasamagāminaṁ.that leads to the stilling of suffering.

6.1Tassāhaṁ vacanaṁ sutvā,After hearing his words,6.2vihariṁ sāsane ratā;I happily did his bidding.6.3Tisso vijjā anuppattā,I’ve attained the three knowledges6.4kataṁ buddhassa sāsanaṁ.and fulfilled the Buddha’s instructions.

7.1Sabbattha vihatā nandī,Relishing is banished in every respect,7.2tamokhandho padālito;and the mass of darkness is shattered.7.3Evaṁ jānāhi pāpima,So know this, Wicked One:7.4nihato tvamasi antaka”.you’re beaten, terminator!”
