1.1“Satiṁ upaṭṭhapetvāna,“As a nun with developed faculties,1.2bhikkhunī bhāvitindriyā;having established mindfulness,1.3Paṭivijjhi padaṁ santaṁ,I penetrated that peaceful state,1.4saṅkhārūpasamaṁ sukhaṁ”.the blissful stilling of conditions.”

2.1“Kaṁ nu uddissa muṇḍāsi,“In whose name did you shave your head?2.2samaṇī viya dissasi;You look like an ascetic,2.3Na ca rocesi pāsaṇḍe,but you don’t approve any creed.2.4kimidaṁ carasi momuhā”.Why do you wander as if lost?”

3.1“Ito bahiddhā pāsaṇḍā,“Followers of other creeds3.2diṭṭhiyo upanissitā;rely on their views.3.3Na te dhammaṁ vijānanti,They don’t understand the Dhamma,3.4na te dhammassa kovidā.for they’re no experts in the Dhamma.

4.1Atthi sakyakule jāto,But there is one born in the Sakyan clan,4.2buddho appaṭipuggalo;the unrivaled Buddha;4.3So me dhammamadesesi,he taught me the Dhamma4.4diṭṭhīnaṁ samatikkamaṁ.for going beyond views.

5.1Dukkhaṁ dukkhasamuppādaṁ,Suffering, suffering’s origin,5.2Dukkhassa ca atikkamaṁ;suffering’s transcendence,5.3Ariyaṁ caṭṭhaṅgikaṁ maggaṁ,and the noble eightfold path5.4Dukkhūpasamagāminaṁ.that leads to the stilling of suffering.

6.1Tassāhaṁ vacanaṁ sutvā,After hearing his words,6.2vihariṁ sāsane ratā;I happily did his bidding.6.3Tisso vijjā anuppattā,I’ve attained the three knowledges6.4kataṁ buddhassa sāsanaṁ.and fulfilled the Buddha’s instructions.

7.1Sabbattha vihatā nandī,Relishing is banished in every respect,7.2tamokhandho padālito;and the mass of darkness is shattered.7.3Evaṁ jānāhi pāpima,So know this, Wicked One:7.4nihato tvamasi antaka”.you’re beaten, terminator!”
