1.1“Sādhū hi kira me mātā,Oh so well was the goad¹1.2Patodaṁ upadaṁsayi;shown to me by my mother,1.3Yassāhaṁ vacanaṁ sutvā,on hearing whose words,1.4Anusiṭṭho janettiyā;advised by my mother,1.5Āraddhavīriyo pahitatto,energetic and resolute,1.6Patto sambodhimuttamaṁ.I realized supreme awakening.

2.1Arahā dakkhiṇeyyomhi,I’m perfected, worthy of offerings,2.2tevijjo amataddaso;master of the three knowledges, <j>seer of freedom from death.2.3Jetvā namucino senaṁ,I’ve conquered the army of Namuci,2.4viharāmi anāsavo.and live without defilements.

3.1Ajjhattañca bahiddhā ca,Those defilements that were found in me,3.2ye me vijjiṁsu āsavā;internally and externally,3.3Sabbe asesā ucchinnā,are all cut off without remainder,3.4na ca uppajjare puna.and will not arise again.

4.1Visāradā kho bhaginī,My self-assured sister4.2etamatthaṁ abhāsayi;said this to me:4.3‘Apihā nūna mayipi,‘Now neither you nor I4.4vanatho te na vijjati’.have any snarls.’

5.1Pariyantakataṁ dukkhaṁ,Suffering is at an end;5.2antimoyaṁ samussayo;this bag of bones is my last5.3Jātimaraṇasaṁsāro,in the transmigration through births and deaths;5.4natthi dāni punabbhavo”ti.now there’ll be no more future lives.”
